Sharing SMART Cable Innovations at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa
Dr. Matt Fouch, President of Subsea Data Systems, delivered a departmental seminar at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s Department of Ocean and Resources Engineering, part of the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST).
Dr. Fouch’s presentation explored recent advancements in SMART (Science Monitoring and Reliable Telecommunications) Cable technology, which integrates scientific sensors into subsea telecommunications infrastructure. His talk highlighted the first projects currently under development in Portugal and Oceania, showcasing how SMART Cables are poised to enhance global capacity for ocean monitoring, climate science, and disaster resilience.
