CTO Steve Lentz Delivers Invited Talk at Workshop on Internet Sensor Testbeds

Subsea Data Systems CTO Steve Lentz was invited to present at the Workshop on Internet Sensor Testbeds held at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in December 2024, delivering a talk entitled "SMART Cables: From Vision to Reality."

Steve's presentation, traced the evolution of SMART Cable technology from conceptual frameworks to practical deployment. He explored how submarine telecommunications cables can serve as platforms for environmental and seismic monitoring, effectively transforming global internet infrastructure into a distributed sensor network spanning the world's oceans.
